The Lost Smile..contd

POETRY

You took me to a court place
And there you taught me your brand of justice
You never heard my near silent sorrowed sobs

Then you told me I must go
Back to the hell, safe you said,as if you’d know
You never heard my near silent sorrowed sobs

So now I sit alone imprisoned in my fears
And you don’t want to see my disillusioned tears
Nor hear my near silent sorrowed sobs

Why did you tell me I could come
Why did you say we’ll help, you’ll find a home

When all you really did was steal my smile
And show me there’s no difference in your guile
Than that from which I ran away
Hoping to find a brand new day
Why did you say
It’s freedom,democracy,justice here
When I am denied them
And all I get is more tears.

You never heard my near silent sorrowed sobs
The memories of a life I was tortuously denied
You painted my youthful dream with lies
And though you try to disguise
The reality within your fine tongued sophistry
My sobs don’t mean a thing to you
You never heard my near silent sorrowed sobs.

But now my sobs are not for me
The tears I cry that you can see
Are tears I cry for you.
For to myself I have been true.
Have you?
